Is Abdul correct? For example, if “Black Lives Matter,” then there should have been a ton of protesters marching from Monument Circle to the Statehouse every time an African-American was the victim of a homicide in Indianapolis. Blacks make up about 75 percent of the city’s murder victims this year, even though we’re about 28 percent of the population. And when you bring up the subject of “black-on-black crime,” critics call it a false analogy, saying most violent crime is intra-racial. But if “Black Lives Matter,” why do they matter more if the black person is killed by a white police officer than someone who looks just like him? Shouldn’t there be just as much outrage?
