Is Cardio necessary for FAT loss? The quick answer is no. A caloric deficit is necessary for fat loss. The important thing to have in mind is that if you are eating at maintenance calories then cardio will help you lose weight, as long as you dont eat the calories you burned back. Did you know that HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is more effective than just regular cardio? Your trainer can have you on a treadmill for 20 minutes, but at the end of the day, all you really do is burn the extra 100 to 200 calories. While with HIIT, you not only burn those calories, but because of the way HIIT works on your body, you continue to burn calories several hours after you are done. So, my advice if you are going to cardio, go for HIIT programs: sprinting, on the elliptical, and on treadmill. My favorite is the lateral training machine. Tomorrow, I will post a video on how to properly do HIIT training on a lateral training machine. It is an amazing workout!
