Is Cardio or resistance training better for losing fat? Many people have the misconception that Cardio (running, biking, doing the elliptical, etc) is the only way to lose body fat when in fact, resistance training is just as important. Doing both cardio and resistance training will help you lose body fat quicker. Remember, losing BODY FAT & inches on your body is more important than looking at the scale to lose weight. Many people trying to change their fitness lifestyle by incorporating resistance training may see inches lost and a decrease in body fat, but may see little to no change on the scale. Dont panic! This just means YES, you are losing body fat AND gaining muscle!! The more muscle you have the more calories you burn in a day!!
