Is Hage Geingob (HG) fit to be the next president of Namibia? I - TopicsExpress

Is Hage Geingob (HG) fit to be the next president of Namibia? I can write a book that commemorates 24 years of abject poverty, hopelessness, desperation and despair, joblessness, jobs-for-cronies, selective prosecution, and institutionalized corruption in Namibia from independence in 1990 to date ( The Hon HG was PM for most of this time). In addition to the above, is the intolerance of difference and the spectacular use of state power to crush beliefs and practices considered threatening, the Caprivi uprising & the endless prosecution/persecution of the Caprivians, is a case in point. The centralization of State power, which compromised the principle of separation of powers in Namibia is used to silence all possible checks and balances of the Executive as there is virtually no difference between the Executive and Parliament in Namibia. Another is the clandestine appointment of Judges to the bench who openly disregard Constitutional rights of indigent Namibians, with an unduly formalistic approach showing uncaring attitudes to the real lives of actual people, but politically very sensitive to criticize let alone act against the Executive wing of Government! The unregulated cost of legal fees making access to justice the Cinderella story of Namibian Justice, The endless issuing of gambling licenses to the detriment of the poor, Tenders-for-Comrades, ..... The list is endless but All of these abovementioned evils came into being alternatively increased during the Hon HG reign as Prime Minister of Namibia. In those circumstances How did he honor the oath to be faithful to The Constitution of Namibia and its people, above all was he a competent PM, besides the now forgotten Prime Ministers Question Time on National Radio, I can think of nothing, zilch, zero, that he did to progress from PM to President. So is it wrong of me to enquire as to what he will do differently when he becomes the next President of Namibia?
