Is Haryana Number One(1)?. This I leave up to you with facts and figures with the hope to adorn the issue with more realistic information. Any country or state with road connectivity, source of canal irrigation, source of sufficient communication system, fully electrified and means of transportation is considered as developed or fully developed. Haryana which came into being in 1966 and carved out of erstwhile Punjab is among much talked state for its number one position in development. Development never means construction of streets and buildings but its source of income and its contribution towards nation building and requirements from feeding to defense. The statics would speak volume of Haryanas contribution towards rich politics, bureaucratic stature, education standard, army performance, sports position, film sharing, freedom activities, industrialization and more in intelligence. One point I would miss so may take early space to mention that haryanavi are HAZIR JAWAB and known for sense of humour. Haryana is a State known for its greenery and rich heritage culture and prosperity in agriculture field. The state produce many crops and contribute to the god owns of grains three time higher of its own requirements as reserve. This state has network of canal irrigation in all corners which make it more prosperous. The per capita income is highest in the country, therefore, no doubt of its being number one. At the political level, the state has provided Deputy Prime Minister in Ch. Devi Lal, Defence Minister Ch.Bansi Lal, Agriculture Minister Ch. Bhajan Lal. Many other Ministers have also adorned the Parliament time to time. They have made contribution and made dent on countries politics. At the burecratic level many IAS officers such as Sh. T.K. Benreeji worked as Defense Secretary Sh. Anil Razdan as Power Secretary, Smt. Rajni Razdan as member of UPSC. Sh. S.Y Qurashi rendered his services as Chief Election Commissioner. The major contribution on which the state can boast of and can feel proud is enrollment and providing services as army personnel. The state is smallest but its army perssonel are known for courage and valour . Brigadier Hoshiar Singh made suprime sacrifice while fighting against china in 1962. Another Major Hoshiar Singh of village Sassana in Sonipat District did proud to the nation by fighting against a high contingent of Pakistan army at Jalpal in 1971 which begged him highest military honor ParamVeer Chakra (PVC) .I should not miss the name of Naik Prem Singh of my own native village-Kohand in Karnal District who did proud to the country in 1947 war against Pakistan by winning army medal and I feel proud to mention among the people that I have seen the medal and touched it personally. His name figure at Sanik Board Office Karnal. There are thousands people who had made supreme sacrifice for the honor and defense of the country during various aggressions and terrorist activities. We must not forget that General K.V Singh led the Indian army for reasonable period. On the education level, Haryana is considered as the education hub having Kurukshetra university, Maharishi Dayanand University, Guru Jameshwar University, Haryana Agriculture University, Maharishi Markande University, Choudary Devi Lal University, Pandit Bhagwat Dayal University , Medical colleges, engineering colleges etc at various places in the state. What to speak of ITIs, polytechnics, Schools, Patwars Schools and Police Training center at Madhuvan. The Defence Academy in Manesar is another feathered to its cap. At the personal level in education Dr. Saroop Singh, Dr. Hardwari Lal ,Dr. Ganga Ram Garg, Dr. Nasid Ahmed, Dr. R.K Mittal has rendered their services as Vice Chancellor in different universities all over the country. Sports is a sphere which devoid of sports persons from Haryana is zero. This has been proved in Common Wealth games. Many players like Sushil Kumar, Jai Bhagwan, Krishna Punia, Kamleshwari, broght lurel to the country by winning medals in different sports and hosting tri-colours, numbers of times in and outside the country. Kapil Dev broght world cup in cricket in 1983, Sita captained the Hockey women Team. Sardara Singh, Sandeep Singh are not new to the hockey lovers. The full kabbadi team which brought asian cup is from Haryana. The claim of Haryana being number one would be discordant without its role in bollywood. Sh. Sunil Dutt, Nargis Dutt, Priyanka Chopra, Ranbeer Hudda, above all Malika Sherawat is produce of Haryana and they are not number two in any way. It goes without saying that Kalpana Chawla, the first and only Women to travel the space is daughter of Karnal, Haryana. The state has many holy places like Mata Mansa Devi Mandir in Panchkula, Mata Shilta Devi Mandir in Gurgaon, Panchmukhi in Yamuna nagar and many other holy shrines all over the state. Kurukshetra known as Karam Bhumi is exceptional. Panipat is known for three wars fought and are permanent part of an acient Indian history. Rao Tulla Ram, chaudry Ranbir Hudda and Devi Lal are among the top freedom figthers beside others. The state has network of rich industries like Maruti Udyog in Gurgaon, Metal Industry in Jagadhri, Textile in Panipat and again IT hub as cyber city in Gurgaon. The Thermal Power at Panipat, Yamunanagar and Jhajar are proud. The state has recently got AIIMS like Medical Institution, Atomic energy Center and many electric power grid. The state has a rich animal wealth. There are many unsung issues like Sh. Lalit Mohan who worked as Attorney General in Govt. of India, IAS topper Miss.Aggarwal from Yamunanagar. It may be unconfirmed that some persons from Haryana worked as consulate in USA before 1965.
