Is Islam even a religion deserving of the protection of our Constitution? Or, is it not a false religion? No, its not a religion by any stretch of the definition of that concept. Islam is a theocratic political construct, AND THAT IS ALL IT IS OR WAS EVER MEANT TO BE. It was Western Europe which decided to bestow the definition of a religion on the middle eastern version of the Divine Right of Kings, and they did it for a simple reason: the Catholic Church insisted on world domination of THEIR religion in those days, and to remove the political threat of Islam, but still have an unending supply of Crusaders to force its military will on political Islam, the Catholics began to refer to early Islamists as religious figures of an evil religion which had to be suppressed. The practice continues to this day, but is just as false today as it was in the nine and tenth centuries. The problem for us is that 228 years ago, we encoded our thoughts on religious freedom into the Constitution, and mistakenly left the door open for Islam to be considered a religion, SOLELY BECAUSE THE CATHOLICS HAD ALREADY DONE SO. Now we need to begin the task of reversing this mistake, just as we have reversed another mistake, that of allowing the religious construct of marriage into Civil Law.
