Is It Wise For A Born Again Christian To Continue To Seek Deliverance In The Hands Of The Pastors And The Prophetess? #7 While pursuing our course on this topic, we have promised to use two illustrations from the Bible so to create an awareness on the need not to rely on theories when it comes to the salvation issue, instead one must totally relied on the written Word of God. We have known that it would be very hard to discover this truth since everybody may have the Bible chapters and verses to use in defense of his or her philosophical ideas about God. And because of this reason, the God of the Hebrews had not left us in the cloud, but had this as a forewarning: 2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another Gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him (2Corinthians 11:2-4). We have called it our duty to continually be updating our readers so they should know that another Gospel could be possible, because the Bible said that it`s possible. So in order not to be carried away, we were able to start our illustrations with that nasty experience of the children of Israel in the land of Egypt, and again after when they have migrated out of that land. In today`s teaching and preaching of the Word of God, everybody was made to believe that once somebody is saved, the person has been saved. We are saved by the grace of God and nothing could be added to it or be removed from it. And again that once one had confessed Christ as the Savior or once one is in Christ that would grant the person the passport to heaven. Anyhow, every of these statements is possible based on individual knowledge that Christ Jesus had lived a holy life, and demands righteousness and holiness from us (1Corinthians 1:30). The Scripture used here has been misplaced, and we are being told about the righteousness of Christ that saves, rather than that He had lived a righteous and holy life so we must follow in that path. And return unto God in righteousness that we must be saved. No wonder it was said in the book of Habakkuk 1:13 that God is of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on iniquity. Please we would like you to be mindful of this statement coming from the Apostle Paul pertaining to the life experience of the children of Israel after their departure from the land of Egypt. 1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea. 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea. 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat. 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play 8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. 10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. 11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come (1Corinthians 10:1-11). We could see from this description that the same people whom the Bible had told us that God had given to them the Promised Land while in the land of Egypt could not all enter into the Promised Land due to their of unbelief. And here is another Scripture speaking on the same issue: Let us therefore fear, lest a promise being left us of entering into His rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the Gospel preached as well as unto them: but the Word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it (Hebrews 3:19,4:1-2). Somebody should read to understand that it was the same Apostle Paul whom God had used to bring to us the message of Grace that was here telling us all what had made their fathers not to enter into the Promised Land. And the emphasis was that this message of salvation (the Gospel) was the same message that was preached to them, and they took it for a ride. And God who is not a Respecter of persons had to judge them. Finally, he said that their story has been retold here so that none of us will make similar mistake.
