Is Maithripala Sirisena a Common Candidate or a mere ingredient in an unappetising Common Salad? Is it at all possible to reconcile the political demands of the UNP (who gave up the thought of putting their own candidate to back him...surely they will want a large stake in the political pie)....the demands of the two spin doctoring wizards Chandrika and Mangala (who obviously didn’t do all this for a pat on the back for a job well done), the demands of the extremist Sinhala Buddhists in the JHU (who pretty much hate the Muslims and the Tamils), the demands of the TNA (who still think the LTTE were the good guys and pretty much hate the Sinhalese and the Muslims - Although they are more eloquent about how they set about it), the demands of Sarath Fonseka (who pretty much blew up the LTTE), the demands of Rauf and the Muslim Congress (their shouts of God is Great during the press conference today would have pretty much guaranteed them executive level jobs at any Taliban Job interview), the demands, ambitions and needs of all those MPs etc who crossed over from the ruling party giving up their cushy portfolios AND Maithripalas own political ambitions and agendas (surely the dude didn’t spend is entire lifetime doing politics to finally contest a Presidential Election promising to be someone elses lapdog).........OR are we all supposed to believe that all these different factions who normally would not be able to agree on what topping to put on a pizza are doing all this because they love the country so much that they want to save us from Mahinda Rajapakse whilst giving up the core political ideals on which their respective parties were founded upon????. Either they are seriously insulting the collective intelligence of the voters or they are smoking some seriously good stuff.
