Is Musharraf going to be another Haqqani? Sanaullah Chaudhry A nation has a long fight with a brutal dictator named Musharraf to reinstate the judiciary. Musharraf did whatever he thought was good and was all in all of country and army for about nine years. Musharraf who was the best ally of US, was equal and unconditional partner and supporter in the entire bloody bloodshed after 9/11, resulting the whole world was looked as a war field and millions of innocents were killed, injured, exiled and structure and infrastructure of trillions dollars brought down to earth. When he came back to the country to take part in the election, on March 24, 2013, he was supposed to face three different criminal cases like illegal confinement of 62 judges after he declared a state of emergency in the country on November 3, 2007, Benazir Bhutto and Nawab Akbar Bugti murder cases. But, still there were so many other cases for him to face. Those were the attack on Lal Mosque and killing hundreds of innocent lives, missing persons, handing over Dr. Aafia to America, killing of innocent soldiers in his self started Kargil war and hiding facts from the government, killings on May 12 in Karachi, breakage of article 6 of the constitution and corruption of billions. One more new case, he was going to face was the inquiry commission on Kargil incident, going to be launched by the newly elected Prime Minister. It was observed that after his arrival to the country, the political parties are quite silent whereas the peoples party did nothing in their mandate and provided him safe exit and now perhaps the current care taker government on the pressure of the army, United States and Saudi Arabia wanted to provide him safe exit again on the human right ground to see his mother. Whereas he did not have any mercy for anyone and was killing on killing the lives of Muslims and Pakistani like animals. Who will be responsible for what Musharraf did? Kiani, Obama, Imran, Iftikhar Chaudhry or Nawaz Sharif. They all knew that if now he left the country then he will never ever come back like Hussain Haqqani. Why are the courts lenient? And the political parties silent? Is there any deal? Pressure of Military and US to provide him safe exit and now safe entry! No one can even imagine that in his 9 years how many have died, how many children became orphans, how many women became widows and how many parents lost their infants. Who will wipe their tears and who will support them? He might be tomorrow’s Qadir Khan, any General or politician or builder of Pakistan. And how many of our security forces and army soldiers were killed? The question is that if today no one will face him then tomorrow one more Musharraf will come and will kill the millions of innocents, again! Who will bring him to justice before the court? Who will investigate the military people, from Brigadier to top post Generals since the formation of Pakistan? How many are corrupted, how many have expensive plots in every luxurious scheme in Pakistan, bank balance, agriculture land and even big farms in America and in other countries? How are their children getting higher studies in abroad whereas their salaries are very nominal and with that salary it is difficult? Why are some being paid by some foreign forces? What secrets of the country are they selling? What compromises are they making against country? What contributions do they have in the formation of Pakistan, whereas their contribution in breaking of Pakistan is right in the history? Musharraf enjoyed his life colorfully and full filled his lusty desires. He has still some desires but the nation perhaps thinks opposite and wanted to sacrifice this lamb for the sake of country, for the sake of those to whom beloved he killed, and for the sake of all his crimes to be wiped out and perhaps, with his sacrifice, the sins of the corrupt Generals could be washed out. The nation loves and salutes their army, who are the defense of their land and their boarders, but they hate the corrupt Generals. Who will have these corrupt Military dictators accountable and throw them in jail, and prosecute them if found guilty. We all are waiting anxiously! Who will decide the fate of Musharraf? Not the army, not United States, not Saudi Arabia nor any foreign hand. But, only the justice of the land, people of the land and the families of the victims. If somehow he escaped like Hussain Haqqani, he will never ever come back and the nation will not get the justice and tomorrow one more General will come and will repeat history.
