Is Our Beloved Students Union Government Now Lecturers Union Government????????? It is totally ridiculous, Embarrassing & Show of Misplaced Priorities, Display of aberrant Behaviours, Loss of Reasoning Impulses, Assault on d History & Achievements of Students Union Movement & a Reminder of d destruction of Key center of activism in SUG, when I saw SUG President, PRO & Some Clueless Comrades on Display in front of MainGate 2day. 2 me Such Display, if not infantilism, but PERFIDY of d highest Order & Gross irresponsibility, Abuse or Misuse Of Aluta Power on the Part of SUG President. My Questions are; 1- Are they(those persons on display today) suffering from AMNESIA 2- Have They forgotten d rai-son dêtre of Students Union Government D rai-son dêtre of SUG, which also is my Driving Force is Properly linked 2 the development process of Students; in d making that Students Voice in d Affairs of the University carries a Substantial Weight & their Needs & Interest Protected. @ this Juncture, Permit me 2 take my Hat off to Comrade Segun Okeowo, former NUNS president in d 70s, who led a just struggle against increase in tuition, accommodation fees etc. And I also deem it fit to extend d Supreme Salutations 2 Other Heroes & Martyrs (Kunle Adepeju, Labaran Maku Etc), who stood 4 principles & Fought for students interest Gallantly without any fear or favour... I make so bold to say that this present SUG led by Mr President has lost its vision, Importance & integrity attached to Uniben Students N Aluta Spirit.... Cos it is a Government Surrounded by Sycophants... Lets not forget that d potential of a Leader is determined by the persons around him. Pls I urge u all to disregard any flyers in circulation or Info inviting u 4 a Protest, as there is no importance/Value or Benefits attached to it.... It pains me most especially @ this period of Neglect & Pain, Uniben students are going through most especially in d Area of Hostel Accommodation.... While we d Progressives & Student welfare Oriented Comrades are fighting for a Transparent & Stress Free Hostel Application, Reduction in Transfer Fees, Maintenance & Building of New Hostels & Rendering of Assistances to freshers, these Few Persons called Comrades were busy attending Harambee Meeting 4 Self Enrichment and Aggrandizement. 2 d SUG Sec-Gen in d Person of Precious irhiaevho, I salute ur Courage, Maturity & Aluta Spirit 4 Speaking d Truth & being Resolute 2 defend & protect d Students interest, who gave u their mandate not 4 Monetary Gain in return but 4 their voice to be heard & Needs attended to!!! May d gods of Aluta bless u, protect u, & strengthen u in d days of Adversity.... He said & I quote It is obvious he is acting a script 2 Self-destruct, cos whoever is misleading him does not wish him well. Pls I urge u All 2 ask d president; wat is d New Aim of this Protest.... Even wen d State Government has Agreed 2 meet wit d aggrieved lecturers, 2 apologise & settle this issue amicably. D aggrieved lecturers in question have their unions which r supposed to b in d fore-front of this Struggle not SUG.... With d Authority vested in me; I hereby condemn this protest in its totality & wholeheartedly dissociate myself & Committee from this protest.... I Hon.
