Is The Torah (Law) Too Hard To Do? First of all why would Yah ask us to do something that we couldnt do, and then punish us because we failed to do it? That is a perverse way of thinking about the Most High, he loves us, and wants the best for us, not pain and suffering. So the idea that he would force us into failure, so that he could be the hero is a misrepresentation of his character. And beside that, even the writings of the disciples contradict the idea that people were unable to keep his Torah. There was in the days of Herodes, the sovereign of Yahuḏah, a certain priest named Zeḵaryah, of the division of Aḇiyah. And his wife was of the daughters of Aharon, and her name was Elisheḇa. And they were both righteous before Elohim, blamelessly walking in all the commands and righteousnesses of יהוה. And they had no child, because Elisheḇa was barren, and both were advanced in years (Luke 1:5-7). This is clearly before the Messiah was even born, and these people wre blamelessly walking in his Torah, so how can anyone say that no one could keep it, or that it was too hard? Not only does it contradict what happened before his birth, it also contradicts what one of his disciples taught long after his death and resurrection: My little children, I write this to you, so that you do not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Intercessor with the Father, יהושע Messiah, a righteous One. And He Himself is an atoning offering for our sins, and not for ours only but also for all the world. And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commands. The one who says, “I know Him,” and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked ( I John 2:1-6). My little children, I write this to you, so that you do not sin. So that you do not sin, not because the law is done away with and are free to do what ever you deem to be right in your own personal worldview. And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commands. We know that we know him, if we are keeping his commands, in other words if we are keeping his commands there is no need for us to be insecure about our relationship with him. The one who says, “I know Him,” and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. This makes it clear that in order to even know the Messiah you must be keeping the law (Torah). 1Jn 2:6 The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked. How did the Messiah walk? He kept the Torah perfectly, that is the goal that we are striving for, to walk as he walked, in complete obedience to the Father. We announce to you what we have seen and heard, so that you too might have fellowship with us. And truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son יהושע Messiah. And we write this to you in order that your joy might be complete. And this is the message which we have heard from Him and announce to you, that Elohim is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and are not doing the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of יהושע Messiah His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are misleading ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is trustworthy and righteous to forgive us the sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us ( I John 1:3-10). 1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of יהושע Messiah His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we walk in the light, not if we do whatever we want and show up to church on sunday, which is that attitude that the masses of Christianity have. Not only is the idea that the Torah is too hard to do, contradictory to what Yahushua and his Disciples taught, but it also contradicts the words of the Torah itself, that Yahuweh told Musa to tell us: “And you shall turn back and obey the voice of יהוה and do all His commands which I command you today. “And יהוה your Elohim shall make you have excess in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground for good. For יהוה turns back to rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers, if you obey the voice of יהוה your Elohim, to guard His commands and His laws which are written in this Book of the Torah, if you turn back to יהוה your Elohim with all your heart and with all your being. “For this command which I am commanding you today, it is not too hard for you, nor is it far off (Deuteronomy 30:8-11) . Deuteronomy 30:11 makes it clear that it is not too hard! The only reason that things are such a challenge in these times is because of our exile from the land, but that is still no excuse to not keep it. We must do our best to love Yahuweh (“And you shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might. Deuteronomy 6:5). “The secret matters belong to יהוה our Elohim, but what is revealed belongs to us and to our children forever, to do all the Words of this Torah( Deuteronomy 29:29). “And when a stranger sojourns with you and shall perform the Passover to יהוה, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and perform it, and he shall be as a native of the land. But let no uncircumcised eat of it. Exo 12:49 “There is one Torah for the native-born and for the stranger who sojourns among you” (Exodus 12:48-49). The Torah is for everyone, if the uncircumsiced sojouners could not partake of this passover of animals, will they in their blatantly unrepentant transgression indeed partake of the passover of Messiah? Of course there is atonment for the one who transgresses in ignorance, but to him who knows that his action is a transgression, then that deed is certainly transgression to him (To him, then, who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. James 4:11). ‘For him who does whatever by mistake there is one Torah, both for him who is native among the children of Yisra’ĕl and for the stranger who sojourns in their midst. ‘But the being who does whatever defiantly, whether he is native or a stranger, he reviles יהוה, and that being shall be cut off from among his people. ‘Because he has despised the word of יהוה, and has broken His command, that being shall certainly be cut off, his crookedness is upon him (Numbers 15:29-31 ) .’ ” Yahuweh desires for us to turn away from our transgressions, not to keep giving offerings and acting as if we have no crimes: Hear the word of יהוה, you rulers of Seḏom; give ear to the Torah of our Elohim, you people of Amorah! “Of what use to Me are your many slaughterings?” declares יהוה. “I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed beasts. I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs or goats. “When you come to appear before Me, who has required this from your hand, to trample My courtyards? “Stop bringing futile offerings, incense, it is an abomination to Me. New Moons, Sabbaths, the calling of meetings – I am unable to bear unrighteousness and assembly. “My being hates your New Moons and your appointed times, they are a trouble to Me, I am weary of bearing them. “And when you spread out your hands, I hide My eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I do not hear. Your hands have become filled with blood. “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Stop doing evil! “Learn to do good! Seek right-ruling, reprove the oppressor, defend the fatherless, plead for the widow. “Come now, and let us reason together,” says יהוה. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. “If you submit and obey, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword,” for the mouth of יהוה has spoken (Isaiah 1:10-20). The sacrifices themselves without obedience is not what Yah desires, after we are humbled under him, and striving to that which he has commanded us, then are our offerings accepted before him on our behalf to make atonement for us. We must be walking in the light of his Torah in order for the atonement offering to cover us: For You do not desire slaughtering, or I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The slaughterings of Elohim are a broken spirit, A heart broken and crushed, O Elohim, These You do not despise. Do good in Your good pleasure to Tsiyon; Build the walls of Yerushalayim. Then You would delight in slaughterings of righteousness, In burnt offering and complete burnt offering; Then young bulls would be offered on Your altar (Psalms 51:16:-19). And He said to me, “Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, when I dwell in the midst of the children of Yisra’ĕl forever, and the house of Yisra’ĕl shall no longer defile My set-apart Name, they nor their sovereigns, by their whoring and by the corpses of their sovereigns on their high places (Ezekiel 43:7). ‘Thus said the Master יהוה, “No son of a foreigner, uncircumcised in heart or uncircumcised in flesh, comes into My set-apart place, even any son of a foreigner who is among the children of Yisra’ĕl (Ezekiel 44:9). The Torah stood when he gave it, it stands now, and it will stand when he returns to dwell in our midst forever; and it is not too hard for us to do, not then, not now, and not in the future!
