Whether you’re eating it in a cup, a cone, or mounted atop your birthday cake, it holds the power to be the highlight of your day. But – is it killing you? There are a number of companies that have chosen to use contaminated milk in their ice cream products. By “contaminated,” I’m talking about the traces of rBGH left in the milk ingredients that go into ice cream. In case you don’t know RBGH, or recombinant bovine growth hormone, alters the hormonal activity of cows to increase milk production. It is quite possibly the most unnatural way of acquiring milk from a cow. The worst part is that a lot of the milk that we get from affected animals still have traces of the hormone left inside – the application of which results in udder infections and puss in the cows affecting the quality of their milk.
