Is a 5 minute video of a flash mob too long for the internet? I - TopicsExpress

Is a 5 minute video of a flash mob too long for the internet? I spent two minutes the other day watching cats knock things off tables and ledges, and that was pure amusement in the strictest sense of the definition. This video shows a flashmob in Birmingham, Alabama with a group of people who will not be confined to church pews but are not going into the streets to picket the evils of today. The line in their song, I dont care how you feel, shout Hallelujah! gets to the idea of the sacrifice of praise, which is something Ive been considering lately. I grew up singing the hymn We Bring a Sacrifice of Praise without really knowing what that meant. A sacrifice, whether in baseball or religious rites, requires the offering something of worth in exchange for something of greater value or lasting importance. The few minutes during a church service that are set aside for praise and worship can be a sacrifice to some, but to others it can become a routine part of the service. The sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving is offered when it is more convenient to hold on to a grudge, self-loathing remorse, or even anger at God for the senseless tumult around us. Acceptance and knowing it is well are important and difficult in their own rights, but the peace that transcends understanding is the product of taking that next step and giving thanks when it hurts or may seem absurd or untimely to everyone else. Give thanks to the Lord for his unending love and be glad for your opportunity to share that love with others.
