Is a Texaco Petrol Station in Alexandra Road, Plymouth the most - TopicsExpress

Is a Texaco Petrol Station in Alexandra Road, Plymouth the most expensive in the city? The filling station which happens to have NO sign working on the forecourt to warn customers is charging £1.39.9 for unleaded and £1.47.9 for Diesel. Only one mile up the road another Texaco garage with a nice working sign is selling unleaded £1.26.9 and Diesel at £1.32.9. A difference of 13 pence a Litre for Unleaded and 15 pence for Diesel. The Garage told the POST that “The sign was vandalized and in due course it will be fixed.” When asked how long ago it was vandalized the spokesperson replied, “ Don’t remember”. Which is understandable because we have forgotten the last time we saw it working. We asked Trading Standards do fuel stations have to display prices so that they are visible from the road? The answer was No In the UK the vast majority of fuel stations have signs up to show how much the fuel costs so drivers can see the price before they drive onto the forecourt. There is no legal requirement to display prices in this way. The retailer just has to ensure the price is clear before the consumer fills up (i.e. putting the price on the pump is sufficient). What do you think ?
