Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5:13-16) Have any of you ever paid close attention to that scripture... I know I didnt for years, but I was praying one day, and I realized many of us are not going deeper into the word, what is it really saying, and we are not receiving all the benefits that are ours, as Gods child .... I began to ask why and as I dug deeper into the Word, I noticed many things that I was missing.... I then found that to every thing there is God saying, I will do but there is also a if or a but you do..... In paying close attention to the above scripture, I noticed several things, like the oil, actually has no power, but the act of obedience does. The oil also has to be prayed over and set aside for the purpose used in the Bible. I have met many pastors who dont know this... A Pastor might go into the grocery store to buy Olive oil for the purpose of healing and a cook might go buy the same oil for cooking purposes ... The setting aside and the Prayer of Faith over the bottle of oil is what makes it Anointing Oil. I use Frankincense and Mirth Oil, but it also is prayed over. Another thing about this Particular Scripture is it says You Call You are the one who is suppose to call for the elders of the Church to pray.... THEN it says Let them pray Who is suppose to pray here? THEY ARE Not you..... You are suppose to pray in the other circumstances .... I asked the Lord about that and I felt in my spirit the Lord say, How can you pour into a vessel and out at the same time?... YOU CANT ... When the Elders are praying The Prayer of Faith over you, you are to RECEIVE .... Receive ALL that the Lord has for you... Confess, Pray for one another... and Be Obedient... the Lord puts action into motion through faith and obedience. The Bible says without Faith, it is IMPOSSIBE to please Him. (Hebrews 11:6) and it also says to obey is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel. 15:22) ... If you have a need today, release your faith and be obedient to HIS will. Pay attention to His Word, slow down when reading and digest what the Word is saying to you, Listen for HIS voice ...... Watch and see the GREAT and MIGHTY things the Lord will do for you. .... You have the Power though Jesus Christ to pray the Prayer of Faith and to receive.... I pray you will have a Blessed day as you dig deeper into His Word and enjoy the Benefits as His child.
