Is any other parent aware that one of the schools today did a random check-up of self harm during PE? This entails lining the children up (boys on 1 side, girls on the other) making them roll up their sleeves (to the height the school felt was high enough) to see if anyone has been cutting. This was NOT a private matter!!!! I agree that depression amoung teens is an important matter that should be recognized, but parents were not informed of this, via any communication (or at least I was not contacted). If students were, in fact, cutting themselves (for any reason) calling them out amoungst a room full of peers wouldnt help, but make matters worse. This irritates me!!! So, I was wondering if any other parent was aware of this, or what it entailed???? Fuming parent of child with depression
