Is it allergy or illness? I have felt less than good all week to the point of seeking medical treatment. It seems each autumn the leaf mold stirs my normally dormant, asthmatic reactions to certain things. Painfully reminding me in a tightening voice... YES,I am still here! GASP! I wear protective facial masks whenever I am around any airborne particulates, when I am dead heading gardens, mowing, or blowing and raking leaves for I have learned over the years to take caution. Inevitably it stirs my asthma and I end up having to use my AtroVent inhaler, to abate the symptoms and calm myself down to normalcy. Most times of the year I can kid myself that I dont have asthma any longer. I can be just great even through the rabid pollen season of spring when most are brought down to a suffering stage with their allergies. I sail through and do just fine. For some reason after attending a show at The Sherman Theater over Thanksgiving weekend I started to have a mild but nagging cough and a feeling of irritation in my lungs.Last weekend,on sunday, I went to get a live Christmas Tree with my niece at The Farmers Basket, and ever since that day and exposure to the pines... with their pollen and mold spores galore...OMG! It has been straight down hill for my health! After 4 days of thinking I could beat it on my own, I got sought medical care. I had a helpful nebulizer treatment at Shawnee Medical thursday and she put me on a Z-Pack for 5 days to handle what she says, could be a potential illness, in her professional opinion... but truthfully, what ever it is...allergy or illness it has taken its toll on me.YUCK!!! Feeling ill right at one of the most busiest times of the year is never easy. I pushed myself through each day and went to bed early each night only to awaken after a few mere precious hours of sleep and cough, sometimes for hours! UGH! Laying down made my lungs feel much worse before the Neb treatment. With only 2 antibiotic in me now, I can feel an incredible shift towards wellness. Not a fan of taking any pharmicutical medications here and most times I try to use natural cures for things but, sometimes you just have to. I am on the road to recovery and with each small step of the way, I am grateful to be feeling even a tiny bit better today. Wow! This added to a lot of other things... Well, its been a real challenge!
