Is it just me?? Or, maybe I am really missing it….Please feel free to leave your opinion(s). I depressingly just hung up the phone trying to schedule a guest for my talk show, “The Cost of the Anointing.” Admittedly, we are a ‘new ministry,’ and are gradually obtaining “name recognition.” As I was speaking to the administrator of the guest, she told me that the ‘Man of God’ travels with a companion, and I would have to provide airfare for both of them, meal allowances, hotel accommodations, and limo service to/from the airport (both States). Needless to say, I told her THANK YOU Ma’am, but at this time we cannot accommodate his request. WOW!! As I intensely write my thoughts, I am trying to be as politically correct, and amiable as my spirit will allow. Therefore, I narrowed my array of thoughts to FOUR points: (1) When did “Anointed Vessels” become Hirelings (only interest is self-preservation). Or whores, (person(s) considered as having compromised principles for personal gain)? (2) If God’s Word is essential to ALL believers (as milk is to a newborn), then how do some men/women of God discriminately choose who to nourish? (3) Has mankind chosen to worship prominent men-women of ‘God’, “Christian celebrities-entertainers,” rather than God? (4) Do Christians have to be poor in order to be holy? Please note, I am not saying that men/women of God should not get paid for their “service(s)” i.e. (the work performed by one that serves). BELIEVERS know that poverty is a curse and not equated with holiness! However, I admittedly have a problem with the “prostitution or whoredom of gifts,” and the exorbitant (extra) charges that are attributed to preaching-teaching THE BIBLE!! Since the Bible is not your thesis, dissertation, or published work, yes; it is very LOFTY and HAUGHTY of you to first ask how many members they have, and charge the inviting (inundated) Pastor or undersized Church an astronomical fee (more than a hospital stay, a house note, a European round-trip ticket, etc.), and then with a straight face, take up a personal fifteen minute offering from widows and single mothers…..THANK YOU SIR/Ma’am, but at this time “The Cost of the Anointing” cannot accommodate your eccentric request….P.S. Paul was a tent maker, Matthew was a former tax collector, (John) Mark was a ‘data entry’ evangelist, Luke was a physician, John was a publisher of a Gospel, and most of the disciples were SELF-SUFFICIENT, they were entrepreneur’s (fisherman)... NOT HIRELINGS….
