When Im done reading a book or watching a movie that features a deadly or mutating or zombifying disease that the characters are constantly watching out for symptoms of, to manifest in their friends, I have a split second of irrational panic and suspicion when I, or someone I know, exhibits those signs (a cough, a headache, whatever) before I remember Im not actually IN the book or movie.
