Is it just me or are others waiting for Imams the world over to speak out against this interpretation of Islam by ISIS? I see so little in the news about ISIS being critiqued by Muslim scholars. The occasional post or blog but nothing systemic like we see in Christianity or even Judaism with their respective peace movements. It is one thing to seek to be ecumenical, sensitive and peace loving. But can those within a tradition which has a group of hate mongers plundering, killing, raping and destroying really say nothing at all? What if Christians were silent regarding the Westboro Baptist Church or clergy who abused women and children? Would this not amount to the same thing? Is there a secret wish in the Islamic world that ISIS succeed? Is that why there is so little critique being ventured? Or is it fear of reprisal? Or something else?
