Is it just me or is the internet constantly trying to sell us stuff, its non-stop on my PC!? The growing number of web site banners and pre video commercials are really getting ridiculous. Its getting harder and harder to read an article, plowing through the ads trying not to erupt a bunch of ad links and/or pop-ups (site IEDs). I guess this is the price of the free internet, and yet, Im afraid its only going to get more consumer driven. It seems the bulk of web programming focus is now centered around sales tricks. And since the young minds involved in that industry are some of the best and the brightest, we can only guess at what might be next? At some point, dropping totally off the grid might be the only way out?
