Is it proper for a Pastor to confront his/her members about their offerings? June 25th, 2013 by qatranscripts Question – Thulani (Botswana): Pastor, I know pastors have to teach brethren how to prosper financially, but I would like to know if it is proper for a pastor to confront people if the money is small in the meetings. For example, asking “why is the offering so small,” or to ask the brethren one after the other, “how much did you pay?” Answer: Well, one of the things I’d like to say to you about this, when you question certain things that Pastors do, you need to be very careful about your perception. For example, if this didn’t happen directly to you, then you should be careful, because you don’t know how God might have led that Pastor in dealing with such situations. If it happened to you, and you were not happy about that had happened, then that’s between you, that Pastor and God. Just remember, if you study the Old Testament, you’ll find out that there were things that God asked his ministers to do that were either ridiculous, out of the ordinary, or even questionable, and yet they got the results. The result is what is necessary, because so far, at least you haven’t said that he did something that was completely contrary to the word of God. This isn’t contrary to the word of God, because just as you can’t find a scripture to support what he did, you can’t find a scripture that’s against what he did. So, always be careful about criticizing what a Pastor might have done on a certain occasion, which he may do or might have done under the anointing. If it didn’t happen to you, then be careful about it; and, if it happened to you, go back to the pastor and say, “Pastor, can you just explain to me why it went this way?” and he might let you know why he did what he did.
