Is it right for a church to be private property or put plainly - privately owned. What are the succession plans for a ministry that is founded by an individual and has no supervising oversight board. Should a son, daughter, wife or husband automatically take over a ministry after the exit of its founder. Who owns the assets of a church, assuming it is under an individual even though you are members. If you labored to pioneer a ministry that is supported by collective funding from members, would you relocate should God call you elsewhere, and leave all the church assets behind. Many churches run business outlets like schools and hospitals. How are the profits accounted for. Unless we are accountable on how we handle church finances and assets, this gospel we preach could just be religious noise.
