Is it right (on) Christian (a) be fiancé (e) or marry a (a) not a - TopicsExpress

Is it right (on) Christian (a) be fiancé (e) or marry a (a) not a Christian (a)? 2 Corinthians 6:14 says, Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers; for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness? While this passage does not specifically mention marriage, definitely has implications for marriage. The passage continues, And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God, as God said; Dwell and walk among them and be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. And do not touch what is unclean; and I will receive you. (2 Corinthians 6:15-17) The Bible goes on to say, Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character. (1 Corinthians 15:33 NIV) Having any kind of intimate relationship with an unbeliever can quickly and easily become something that is an obstacle in your walk with Christ. We are called to evangelize the lost, not be intimate with them. There is nothing wrong with making quality friendships with unbelievers - but thats as far as you can go. If youre dating an unbeliever, honestly what would your priority? Is the romance or win his soul for Christ? If they were married (a) with an unbeliever, how could the two cultivate a spiritual intimacy in your marriage? How you could build a good marriage if they disagree regarding the most crucial point in the universe - The Lord Jesus Christ?
