Is pot a gateway drug? I dont think pot necessarily is a gateway drug, but I believe the lifestyle is the gateway, those that sell pot often have access to other illegal products, so once you are in that lifestyle, then you probably know where to get cocaine, pills, stolen phones, etc, etc, once youve entered the elicit market, the availability of other illegal products becomes tempting. A couple of examples are Spice (K2) and bath salts, both are exceedingly dangerous and held out as a safe legal alternative to pot. But pot dealers are by definition criminals, once you form a relationship with a criminal sub culture, you expose yourself to lots of potential bad outcomes
