Is there anyone here that could tell me exactly where the Hawkeye mine was in Marion County? My GGG Grandfather was killed in that mine in 1914. I found on a website that there was a town called Hawkeye east of Knoxville in eastern Knoxville township at the time that was abandoned, however any maps of the time that I am finding on line are not showing Hawkeye or a mining company of that name. I had it in my mind at first he died at Pershing, but the newspaper article I found in my family information says the Hawkeye mine.
