Is there anything wrong with using reverse psychology? Personally, I think it’s manipulative. Instead of openly and honestly communicating what you want, you’re tricking someone into doing what you want. It will become clear to what you’re doing, saying one thing but meaning something else. There’s a lot of ambiguity in communicating like that. Is that the way you want to communicate? The negative repercussions of reverse psychology may result in motivating the target in exactly the opposite of the positive goal you desired. An individual, who lacks self confidence, might actually take your negative statements and substitute them as new limiting beliefs that makes the problem even worse. Manipulation....naw, I choose to speak Life, Love, and Truth. Lies and trickery have never been a fan of mine.
