Is there such a thing as right perception? Under varying - TopicsExpress

Is there such a thing as right perception? Under varying conditions we observe something and then feel and decipher something different at different times, despite the fact the thing observed is the same. Take for example there are times when we are with someone or in some surrounding we feel secure and then there are times when with the same someone or in same surrounding we do not; we feel indifferent, fearful, agitated. Of course when these things are happening we ourselves are conditioned by a set of varying variables, such as at one point our whole physical condition is good and then not good. Have you noticed sometimes sparks fly and nothing appears as difficult and then sometimes the opposite. Under these conditions our perceptions and thus actions are different. This is well known and this is not the question. We know too well our mind is colored by our physical condition, therefore, it is not reliable. One might then say the real perception is when our mind is calm. I am not so sure! The perception during adverse condition too is real. Again we know all these events are happening in the world of time. Therefore we are not talking about spirituality and such. We are very much grounded right here. We are not even talking about silence being the real perception. For a realist this would be copout. This raises the question what then is the real/right perception. Is there even such a thing as real/right perception? What makes us even go after such a question? Should we give credence to curiosity and imagination, then the question is pertinent. Entire Buddhist and majority of Hindu view of life and efforts of serious dwellers (be they scientists, mathematicians, poets, artists, or naturalists or all) deal with this enigma. It reaches extreme heights when we are alone, whether in a crowd or in a forest or on a beach. On this medium I notice a lot of people touch upon this subject by quoting some experts, putting some pictures, using terms of conjecture and big words. But they disappear after cruising on the waves – saying self-serving niceties to each other making conclusions -- hardly anyone goes to the depth from where there’s no return. ***
