Is this guy the worst person in America? Maybe, but his behavior is also perfectly emblematic of our politics and culture as a whole. We have become a nation of fanatics, through decades of largesse and entitlement drowning in our own bullshit. Whether its soy milk, beards, intoxication, sobriety, writing, cross fit, music, Facebook, or artisanal cheese, obsession has replaced creation. Indulgence has replaced survival. Its just that most of us dont have a law degree. Or the ability to ensnare those who annoy us in the arcana of the legal system. Imagine if Ben Edelman was your local prosecutor. Hes both frighteningly myopic and utterly certain of his correctness. And thats America. Instead of In God We Trust on the dollar bill, it should say My Dollar Deserves To Be Twelve Dollars.
