Is your child using the correct writing utensil grip for their age? If your child is in the older age group and is using a grip for a younger age, correct them everytime you see them doing this. Everytime they use the wrong grip, it is embedded in their brain and makes it that much harder to correct the issue. Using the wrong grip not only affects their handwriting, but can make their fingers/hands hurt, can physically make it harder for them to write, can make it take longer for them to form their letters when writing and can make the letters not look very neat in appearance. All this can lead to frustration (on both ends) and can make the child not want to work on writing which in turn can affect a lot of school work. So, just something to keep an eye on....
