Isa 29:13 And Yahweh says, "Because this people has drawn near with its mouth, and with its lips they have esteemed Me, and it has kept its heart far from Me, and their fear of Me has become a command of men that is taught! Footnote: 1Mt. 15:8-9, Mk. 7:6-7 Then there came to Yahshua scribes and Pharisees from Yerushalayim, saying, "Why do Your taught ones transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread." But He answering, said to them, "Why do you also transgress the command of Elohim1 because of your tradition? Footnote: 1See Mat. 5:20. "For Elohim has commanded, saying, ‘Respect your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ "But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, "Whatever profit you might have received from me has been dedicated," is certainly released from respecting his father or mother.’ So you have nullified the command of Elohim by your tradition. "Hypocrites! (Matthew 15:1-9) And the Pharisees and some of the scribes assembled to Him, having come from Yerushalayim. And seeing some of His taught ones eat bread with defiled, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault. For the Pharisees, and all the Yehuddo not eat unless they wash their hands thoroughly, holding fast the tradition of the elders, and coming from the market-place, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions which they have received and hold fast – the washing of cups and utensils and copper vessels and couches. Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, "Why do Your taught ones not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?" And He answering, said to them, "Well did Yeshayahu prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it has been written, ‘This people respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain do they worship Me, teaching as teachings the commands of men "Forsaking the command of Elohim, you hold fast the tradition of men." And He said to them, "Well do you set aside the command of Elohim, in order to guard your tradition. "For Mosheh said, ‘Respect your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ "But you say, ‘If a man says to his father or mother, "Whatever profit you might have received from me, is Qorban (that is, a gift)," ’ you no longer let him do any matter at all for his father or his mother, nullifying the Word of Elohim through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such traditions you do." (Mark 7:1-13) There are many traditions that our church denominations teach us, but not all of them are in the bible. In fact, I submit to you that most are not - and dare I even say - completely opposed to what the scripture teaches! These doctrines are the traditions of men, and they are tools used by our advisory the devil, to keep us from having a relationship with Yahweh. It is tough to discern which of these traditions are true, and which are false. The only way we can find out, is to read the scripture and learn the truth!
