Isaiah 53:1-3 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm - TopicsExpress

Isaiah 53:1-3 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Here in Isaiah 53, prophetic language is used to describe the coming of Jesus Christ, and what that means for human kind. "The arm of the Lord" will be physically unremarkable, rejected, one who experience pain, and one who was considered insignificant. If you believe in Jesus, you realize that at some point in your life you have rejected Him, caused Him pain, or considered Him insignificant. The Holy Spirit works tirelessly in our lives to destroy the lies and reveal the truth to us: that we are sinners in need of a Savior, and that Savior is Jesus!
