Isaiah 62:2-- The nations will see your righteousness. World leaders will be blinded by your glory. And you will be given a new name by the LORDs own mouth. In the days of old the names given had significance. “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.” – Proverbs 22:1 (NIV) I think of Jabez, whos name means bore with great pain, or Jacob the deceiver. Today names seem to have lost their meaning but it is the character that one waits for to develop before a name is given. It could be trustworthy, snake, encourager, destructor, etc... However, there will be a day when we wont here (Scotty Potty), oops I think I got too personal, forgive me. Just kidding. What we see is that Isaiah is referring to the day that when regardless of what man has called us, the label He has attached to our name, it will be irrelevant! God will clothe us with His righteousness, and it will be His glory that they will not be able to see past. It is that glory that He places in you that is to flow from you! Then you will be given a new name. Okay, I will say it again you will be given a new name by OUR LORD!!! Here is an example of what He may name us; CHOSEN (John 15:19, MINE (Psalm 50:10-12), BELOVED (Deuteronomy 33:12), FRIEND (James 2:23), and SOUGHT AFTER (Isaiah 62:12). These are just a few. Which one do you want to be given? Better yet, which one do you want those who persecuted to call you because once it is given by the Lord it will done on earth just as it is done in heaven! How exciting is that. So as it says in Exodus 14:14, The Lord will fight for you, so be patient (be still, or my favorite, so just shut up). I will leave you with a few names that come to mind when I think of you: Worthy, loved, brother or sister, special, unique, strong, exceptional, beautiful, friend, forgiven, and valued!
