Isaiah 65:2-3, 5. I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people,...A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face;... Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. In Proverbs 6 there are several things listed that GOD hates. The very first one is pride. (A proud look) If you believe in the creator GOD, then you must realize that HE has created us with what we have. Some have a greater desire to succeed. Some have better looks. Some have a higher intelligence, etc. The list could go on and on. We as CHRISTians especially should realize that whatever we are, GOD created us that way. No matter the attributes, HE gave them to us. It is not anything that we gained in and of ourselves. We should strive to do the best we can with the talents GOD has given to us because if HIS grace and goodness. When I get to feeling prideful, all I need to do is compare myself to HIM. Any pride is totally banished. Humble yourselves and let HIM do the exalting in due time. Enjoy! HIS goodness and mercies.
