Isaiah 65 God’s Answer 1 I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name. Because of the Jews rejection of God and of His Son Jesus Christ; God has went to the gentiles. The Age of the Gentiles is in reference to the Church Age which began at Pentecost. For the last 2000 plus years God has went to the Gentiles through the cross of Jesus Christ and what Christ done for all of us gentiles on the cross. “To a nation that was not called by My name refers to all gentiles down through the last 2000 plus years. 2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; God has spread out His hands all the day in attempting Israel to repent. They however are a rebellious people! 3 A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; They angered God continually! They sacrificed to idols in gardens and high places instead of to God and at His altar. Any and all sin is directed at God. 4 Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swines flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels; Backsliding for any and all is a terrible state to be in! One has no peace, no comfort, continual conviction and chastisement. This will continue until one repents or else he will die eternally lost. God will go to the farthest depths and the extremes of extremes to bring one back. However He will never go against a free will. Israel is in this condition today! 5 Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day. Israel had a form of godliness, but she denied the power thereof. She in effect was hypocritical like many today. A holier than thou attitude is a destructive attitude and it is not from God. 6 Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom, Israel’s sins lie before Him continually. He will recompense (pay back) for any and all sins. “Even recompense into their bosom” means that His (pay back) will be personal and individual as well. This pertains to the nations of the world and to their each individual citizen. 7 Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the Lord, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom. The fathers of these children (Israel) will pay for their own sins. The fathers will pay (individually) for their own sins. Each person will give an account of himself to God. Romans 14:12 says… 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. A Seed Promised 8 Thus saith the Lord, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants sakes, that I may not destroy them all. In those days the grape gatherers would leave one stem of grapes on the vine. This way a seed would remain. God is saying here that He will leave a seed of Israel and not destroy them all. 9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there. “A seed out of Jacob” and “out of Judah an Inheritor” refers to Jesus Christ. “Mine elect” and My servants” refer to the remnant of Israel who will come out of the Great Tribulation and accept Jesus Christ as messiah. 10 And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me. The Plain of Sharon will be a place for flocks. The valley of Achor (Achan) will be a place for herds to lie down in. Joshua chapter 7 describes Achan’s sin in coveting gold and silver which caused Israel to fall before her enemies in battle. I can picture in my mind a beautiful place with luscious green grass growing and herds as far as the eye can see. Rebels and Apostates Purged From Israel 11 But ye are they that forsake the Lord, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number. They worshipped Gad (the god of fortune) who supposedly had something to do with the planet Jupiter. The also worshipped Meni (the god of destiny) who supposedly had something to do with the planet Venus. 12 Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not. Israel in choosing to worship little gods were in effect causing God to fight against them. 13 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed: There will always be a remnant that will serve God. In Israel and in the Church today. These will always be provided for both spiritually and physically. 14 Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit. God’s remnant will always sing for joy of heart. Hypocrites will cry for sorrow of heart and howl for vexation of spirit. 15 And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord God shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name: Israel wouldn’t serve God and therefore her enemies have always overtaken her. The gentiles here will be called by another name. Revelation 2:17 declares… 17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. Revelation 3:12 states… 12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. 16 That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes. In the soon coming Kingdom Age men will bless God. They that take an oath to (the Amen). The former troubles are forgotten and hid from God’s eyes. 17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. The Holy Spirit leaps ahead to the New Heaven and the New Earth. 2 Peter 3:13 says this… 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Revelation 3:12 reaffirms… 12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. Revelation 21:1-2 states… 21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. Now, the Holy Spirit brings us back to the Kingdom Age. 19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. In the Kingdom Age (Millennium) there will be no crying. 20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. No more will an infant only live a few days, nor an old man who dies prematurely. A child shall die a hundred years old. The sinner who dies when only a hundred years old shall be thought of as a child. The sinner will be cut off (die) because he will be accursed (not saved). 21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. Life will continue on the earth during the millennium. People will build houses and live in them. They will plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them. The people who were here on earth will still be here on earth. Children will be born and live a long life. People will die. 22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. It is said some trees live thousands of years. Whatever the people build (houses) they will live in it themselves and not someone else. God’s chosen and elect are Israel. There will be work to be done in the Millennium. 23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them. All Israel will be blessed including her offspring (children) during the Millennium. 24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. Jesus Christ is Omniscient. He will answer all questions before they are spoken or asked. 25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpents meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord. All animal creation will be at peace in the Millennium. The wolf and the lamb will eat side by side indicates they both will eat grass. The lion will eat straw like the oxen. The serpent will eat dust. Snakes in the Millennium will not bite people or eat other reptiles. All animals and beasts will be back to their intended state in the Garden of Eden. They will be vegetarians again.
