Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Now comes the another big question, what did you get for Christmas? If you didnt get all you wanted or the right gift...theres still time. For as the prophet Isaiah wrote Jesus has the right gift just for you. In his words theres five names, descriptions given to Christ and each one reveals a promise, a hope, a gift that we all desperately need. (1) He is Wonderful and in His name there is wonder, awe and amazement. Its hard to be sad or depressed when you stand in the awe and wonder of the God of the universe and how much He loves us. He is our (2) Counselor. He is the one we can go to with all our problems, pain, hurt and disappointments because He is the only one with all the answers. He is our (3) Mighty God. When we consider how big He is we must confess our problems do not stand a chance. He is our (4) Everlasting Father. In this world theres an absence of fathers, but God is the Father who will never leave us nor forsake us for all eternity. He is our (5) Prince of Peace. In the midst of all the drama and chaos He is our calm. He is all we need and everything we need to face a new day and a new year.
