Nahyubi Joseph aka Nuby Dan hailing from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, is a conscious Reggae artist whose socially conscious lyrics erupt over roots reggae and dancehall beats. Nuby Dan is from a musical family. His Rastafarian parents raised him up on musical and a spiritual commitment to Jah Rastafari, His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I. His upbringing shines through, as he is soft-spoken and well mannered—but when he hits the stage, its an explosion of pure fire. Nuby Dan grew up in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, in a housing project known locally as “Ras Valley,” . His music is rooted in this street-born reggae consciousness. His lyrics reflect the hopes and struggles of sufferers and they that go through great tribulations. Nuby Dan along with his brother Jomo dred released their debut album, Raggedy, in 2005, to rave reviews from the people on the streets of the Virgin Islands. The album, featuring the brothers’ dynamic sing-jay style, a combination of singing and chanting, made waves from Boston and New York, all the way to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and beyond. In 2007 Nuby Dan released Close to you, an EP which got massive rotations in the islands. In 2009 He recorded Mind How You Choose in Trench-Town Jamaicas Triple L records. Most Recently, October 2013 he released his first solo album Take Heed.
