Isingoma Ndawura came to Australia in late 2010 as an unaccompanied minor from the Democratic Republic of Congo and was lucky enough to find himself at Harristown State High School. A passionate footballer, it is through his participation in sport that has broken down many of the language and cultural barriers that he has encountered. It is his running that has resulted in him being selected to represent Queensland at the National Cross Country Championships but without financial support there is little chance that he could attend. The school teachers reached into their own pockets and joined with the local community and Future State Greats to ensure that this young man is able to head to Albany Western Australia to represent his adopted State. Wonderful effort Isingoma and we wish you every success in the West.
