Islaamic History Rasulullaah (SAW) married Hadhrat Khadeeja رضي الله عنها Hadhrat Khadeeja رضي الله عنها was a respectable and wealthy widow of Makkah who was twice married before. Although many of the most respectable men of Makkah had proposed for her hand in marriage, she proposed to marry Rasulullaah (SAW) when she noticed his trustworthiness and exemplary character. When Rasulullaah (SAW) mentioned this to his uncle Abu Taalib, he was overjoyed and, together with some seniors of the Banu Haashim and Mudhar tribes, they proceeded to the house of Hadhrat Khadeeja رضي الله عنها, where the arrangement was formalised. Hadhrat Khadeeja رضي الله عنها was 40 at the time and Rasulullaah (SAW) was 25. she remained loyal and devoted to Rasulullaah (SAW) all her life and even after her death Rasulullaah (SAW) always remembered her fondly. Apart from Hadhrat Ibraheem (RA), all the children of Rasulullaah (SAW) were born from Hadhrat Khadeeja رضي الله عنها.
