Islam: When there is no one to save the innocents September 27, 2013 by Imam Hasan Qasim Okikiola He who kills a believing soul intentionally, Allah makes the Fire of Hell his abode, He will become angry with him, and curses him, and has prepared a tremendous punishment for him, equal to if he had killed all people, and his punishment will still be the same, Mujahid ibn Jabr As a Nigerian, I joined the leaders of Islamic organizations who had condemned the horrified killing on Friday 20, September 2013 at Apo legislative quarters, zone E, in FCT, Abuja which resulted in massive killing, destruction and attack on innocent lives. We express our deepest sympathies and sorrow. We condemn, in the strongest terms, the incidents, which are against all human and Islamic norms. This is grounded in the Noble Laws of Islam which forbid all forms of attacks on innocents until proven otherwise. God Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an: ‘No bearer of burdens can bear the burden ofa another’ (Surah al-Isra 17:15). Nigeria is a country with blessed resources; some says is a country where God leaves. Their reason might not be religiously accepted but they have their claims and it was proven to some extends. Such claim says God created continents, nations, tribe, ethnics and human beings. Allah created each nation with a special resource, but when it was the turn for God to share favors to Nigeria, he blessed Nigeria with all the special resources he gave to every nations. This in my opinion was enough reasons for some to claim that if not God’s interest especially in Nigeria one way or the other, why blessed the country Nigeria with each of the other countries special resources. I also had some joking argument that when God blessed Nigeria with all these favors, some countries cried to God for clarification over the margin gap in resources bestowed on Nigeria than any other nations. God was said to have enlightened them by saying wait and see the kind of people He would put in the Country. In return, what did we pay back to God, is the killing of the innocents, accuse those that sincerely worship God to be the criminal, because no one is fighting for their cause. Also, Femi Abbas a columnist with vase experience was quoted in one of his write ups over the reactions of Margret Tasha on her country of interest if she is given second chance to come and rule this world by God, she opted for Nigeria and her reason was quoted that Nigeria as country are the people who could be pushed to the wall (by their leaders) still instead of resistance, Nigerians will rather want to endure any situations. Invariably, this may mean that Nigerians can withstand any situations, but then, what or who could be responsible for all the inadequacies of Nigeria and Nigerians the country is currently under going? Even when they can leave under any situation patiently. This is a question pregnant with many answers. In recent time in Nigeria, so many things are happening that needs immediate intervention of Allah, Governments, religious/spiritual diagnoses and sincerity of purpose for everybody with Nigeria situations in their agenda. Some of these needs require international attention; one of such situations is innocent killings of the Nigerians by the Nigerians, either by the book Haram insurgence, kidnapping, political higher assassins, religious motivated brainwash and other issues around the matter. Anywhere in world, it is almost getting to the situation where when justifying criminality to achieves political will, it doesn’t matter any longer, such could be justified by announcing the killing of Muslim terrorist or religious fanatics, and bombing of innocent worshippers in the churches, some group of Muslim could be named terrorist because of their simplicity, facial look beard wearing, in fact, being a northerner may justify his identity as terrorist or sometimes being poor. The surprising thing in all of this is that groups, activist, and some religion organs would stage rally and protest for them to be wipe out totally. No one see this as illegality but a right direction of jungle justice and illegality. Who are there for the not have? Some time I do ask myself when would all these stopped, in some areas, some group of misinformed Muslims preachers would call the Christians to their face unwarranted names along the line misinformed the people about their religion principles, and in a glance, at any little quarrel, churches would be burnt down or bombed, killings would take the order of the day with a claim that they are killing the disbelievers. Many innocents’ souls had lost, many families’ ties were broken, and many generation wipe away for no reason. I asked what has the innocent Human being done in the name of politics and greed to deserve this witch hunting of final elimination, no one care to give a reasonable answer to this questions. The only one I saw close to it was an apology from a former US president who came out and apologized to the world about the killing of the innocent citizen he infaded during his reign as world leader, which almost led to him being stoned by an angry journalist who could not control it any longer for fact that the whole world advised him not to chose war of retaliation but still went ahead to kill millions of Muslims, destroyed all the structures, millions become orphans, many women became widow, educational system destroyed only for him to come back saying the war was not necessary and apologized, no body care to ask him why he choose to waste the life of innocents for what Patrick Doherty an associate editor with Tompaine, wrote in August, 2004 and I quote “ from the evidence before us today, there is no single reason Bush choose war in Iraq, Rather, there are three converging and tightly interwoven reasons: oil, Israel and military transformation. The cheney energy strategy required Iraq oil; AIPAC and the Christian right wanted to weaken the Arab world to strengthen Israel; and Don Rumsfeld wanted to expedite the transformation of the U.S military” Since then no one has ever asked asked him to pay for what he was sorry for or to pay the price for destroying country with structures and balanced governance. I want to justify that as one of my evidence to mean this are Muslim and non Muslim innocent people destroyed with permanent political disability. You can join me in counting so many of sure in and around the world unjustly. In Nigeria, many situations like this take place but directly the Government might not be linked to the allegations neither the security agencies, but in directly within the circle of governance and the security agencies there are misinformed fellow who sees power as a tool of retaliation for one reason or the other. Such people are sent on national security assignments, which in many cases the power were abused, this affect the both side of the coin, and in reality bring about the obvious suspicious in the subject matter. Government might as well be blamed for bias selections of some of the vital position strategically, not because of the merit aspect of it but for the same obvious reasons. For instances, the latest recruitment of the Nigerian Army where in the concentrated area of the Muslim where share with the non Muslims 60-40 % which in non concentrated areas of Muslims where 99% cleared by non Muslims. These are some of the obvious reasons that warrants suspiciousness of the Government in some of these situations and I am sure effort are ongoing to correct them. sometime , I became worried and tired over daily record of death tolls in some concentrated northern states in hundreds of thousands and with the present efforts of adequate funding of the National security, yet innocent soul were killed or kidnapped with the excuses of the security agencies claiming boko haram insurgency are responsible, also, I still surprised at the almost daily records of the suspected insurgence killed in 20-50, then, it occurs to me that if the security agencies are killing the suspected in this numbers, how many would their total numbers be since all this years, would they have been so many to reach a population of a state, I want to think some innocent citizen might have been affected by this strategy? What is happening to our judiciary trials? Which of the Nigerian constitutional laws that says jungle justice is in the best alternative option for criminals? because as far as Islam is concern, those who take innocent live in the name of whatever reason must be treated like a criminal, no doubt about that and it will also be a great relieve for all of us if the so called boko haram should be treated criminal, including all kidnappers, higher killers and the political thief. This would paint the picture more clearly and the world could then see those behind the insurgence in almost concentrated northern state and other places in the country. Muslims are in no way enemy of non Muslim Governance, neither did the Muslims would say any non Muslims should not be in existence. We are brothers in faith, we are partners in progress, political issues, selfish interest, and greed should not be allowed to turn us against one and others. There is no terrorism or a threat to civilians in religious struggle. What is happening in Nigeria and some other countries from the shedding of the innocent blood and the bombing of buildings and ships and the destruction of public and private installations is a criminal act against Islam. … Those who carry out such acts have the deviant beliefs and misleading ideologies and are responsible for the crime. Islam and Muslims should not be held responsible for such actions.
