Island Community Action (ICA) are RECRUITING ROLE SUMMARY Island Community Action (ICA) is now recruiting: •Role: Portland Pride: Growing Local – Coordinator x 2 •Contract: 24 month fixed term contract (with six month review) •Salary: £10,000, per annum •Hours: Part time, 24hrs, per week (including some weekends and irregular hours) •Deadline for applications: Monday 8th December, 2014 •Interviews expected to be on: 18th December, 2014 BACKGROUND In 2012 ICA launched Portland Pride – Stage 1, a local food and craft initiative for Portland. Stage 1 was aimed at supporting producers across the Island to either expand or launch their businesses. The support offered ranged from a shop to taking products on the road to local events and markets, food hygiene training and marketing and PR advice. PORTLAND PRIDE: GROWING LOCAL Portland Pride: Growing Local (PPGL) represents the next stage for Portalnd Pride and will focus on engaging the wider community in food and horticultural based training, workshops and social activities. JOB DESCRIPTION The successful candidates will be responsible for the day to day running of the project, including coordinating all training sessions, workshops and events, creating marketing drives, overseeing the creation and production of all training materials and managing volunteers.
