Isle of Man Post Office produces limited edition 90th Anniversary Manx Grand Prix commemorative Postcards To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Manx Grand Prix, Isle of Man Post Office has produced two large-format A5 full-colour pre-paid postcards featuring a gallery of the classic machines and the legends past and present of this historic racing festival. In a limited edition of 2,500 sets, every card features a ‘pre-paid postage’ graphic on the reverse along with an image of the first race starting line-up in 1923 from the archive of motorsport journalist and photographer Bill Snelling. These great souvenirs are published in two versions: the special commemorative postmarked version of the set which cannot be used for postage while the other is eligible for free postage worldwide from the Isle of Man. Harvey Garton, Chairman of the Manx Motor Cycle Club said: “The Manx Motor Cycle Club is delighted that the Isle of Man Post Office has chosen to commemorate our 90th anniversary by issuing these very special limited edition postcards. The design of the postcards has expertly captured the true essence of the event over many eras.” Throughout the Manx Grand Prix there are various outlets where you can buy these products: Manx Motor Cycle Club and the Joey Dunlop Foundation retail shops at the back of the TT Grandstand as well as through the Vintage Motorcyle Club’s Jurby Day on Sunday (25th August) and the re-enactment of the original TT course in St Johns on Tuesday (27th August). For every customer who spends over £15 on any Isle of Man Stamps and Coins products they will receive a free piece of our TT Tarmac – their very own little piece of the world famous TT course. The postcards can also be ordered online here at iomstamps and are priced at £4.00 per set.
