AMBROSE COPE- Charged with being drunk & disorderly along with Jack Brown & Frank Ward. - 3/11/1911.Charged with being drunk & disorderly in Kings Ar,s Yard.He was very violent and rushed at P.C Brown.When in the cell,he had to have his boots removed as he was kicking the door and threatening the constable. -11/10/1912.Spencers ayrd.Charged with assaulting george Bartlam,Kings arms yard,who said that Cope had knocked him down in Station St and kicked him in the ribs.Later he knocked his door and assualted him again,threatening him with a knife.He also kicked his wife,Eliza bartlam.Maria Perry testified. - 6/12/1912.Charged with being drunk & disorderly after being ejected from the coach & horses. - 2/ 5/13.Charged with using obscene language. - 5/ 9/13.Charged with being drunk & disorderly and assaulting P.C Gordon,who he kicked several times in the back. Pvt. -18/ 6/1915.Missing presumed dead. - 8/10/1915.Killed in action.He was single.His father is a porter at the Workhouse.also Corp.S Bonfield wounded in the head and gassed.Pvt.Charles burrows wounded.Pvt.Michael Reid killed in action He had a wife & children living in nelson Yard.Died from wounds in France.
