Isnt it hard enough to get students prepared for their their future careers without adding yet one more thing they cant do? Theyre going to learn a lot in a classroom setting that will prepare them for their future job that would be harder to learn on their own at home. Learning what we pages are quality sources, how to allocate time for work, how to turn off or minimize social media and get the report done.... I assume that recent college graduates will be able to use the software I need them to use--the stuff that takes me time to show older staff and volunteers. I will always prefer to hire people with solid computer skills. This reminds me of the misguided attempt to hold on to penmanship. Id much rather you start them typing earlier.
