Isnt life sad??? Have a regular customer having her cup of coffee each day here at the shop, she is turning 82 in December, sins she came here we talk allot and she told me her life story, her husband passed away 3 years ago, they didnt had any children and she have no other family, she decided to sell her house to go stay at old age home for she dont have any family who could look after her. Today as every other day she sat down order her coffee and I went and sat down next to her to chat, this time I saw she was very sad and she told me the following: guess what I did yesterday, I took all my photos I had the past 82 years and took a step down memory lane one last time... Then I decided to burn all off them for there is no use keeping them, Im 82, 5-10 years from now I wont be there any more and for who do I want to leave my photos behind? I dont have children nor family, didnt think it would have been so hard but at least I did it and remembered each and every photo and all the good years I had, but when I pass on I wont be able to take them with me... This wonderful lady had me crying like a baby. Would you like to spend your last 5-10 years in an old age home with no children nor family? when you pass on, what will happen? no one to come say good bye for the last time... My hart goes out to this women and I will miss her dearly, each morning enjoying her coffee. And then you get family these days who just dont care about the other any more! It is so sad to think family isnt family any more like it used to be. I made a promise to my self, got her number and address of the old age home where she will be going, even tho she isnt my grandma nor mother or even family for that matter, but I will go visit her enjoying a coffee like we use to do each day at the shop and chat about her life! It cant be good if you know you will be sitting in youre room for the next 5-10 years and have no family to come visit you. God please be with her and give her peace and help me to keep my promise to give her a friend for I will not like to spent my last years with no family or loved ones, and help those families who has drifted apart for what ever reasons to leave the past in the past and be there for each other. Life is to short to live with regrets, or to die all alone. AMEN
