Isnt she beautiful.....Isnt she lovely....the hood, Im talking about the fiberglass hood that I picked up early Thursday morning from Aaron of of the Craigslist. It wasnt easy getting it either. I found the hood on CL 2 weeks ago on a post that was over 30 days old. I emailed the post and got no reply. Last weekend Im cruising through the Camaro parts again and there was the post still. So I sent another email inquiring about the hood. Then, all of a sudden on Tuesday of this week I get a text at like 5:30 from Aaron saying he still has the hood but its at his school in St. Paul. 4 days and many texts later I was able to pick up the hood Thursday morning at his school. This is a 3 inch bolt on fiberglass cowl hood that retails for about $550. Then you have to get it shipped to you and thats another $100. My cost for this: $240 out the door! #Score. This hood is light and shaves about 70lbs off the weight of the front of the drag car. This weight savings added by the removal of my stock wiring system we should gain almost a 10th in the 1/4 mile. I wouldnt doubt we bust a 12.99 on a crispy cool spring morning. Well see how close we can get. I still have the option of installing some 1.6 roller rockers to gain a little more HP and little quicker E.T. Well, we are now officially counting down the days. And since I have the day off I did an oil change on the wifes car and now Im heading out there to do the hauler.
