Isometric Wars game overview 1. Game genre Isometric Wars is a small squad control tactical game with 3-rd person action and RPG elements. Friendly squad is usually outnumbered and underpowered. Therefore victory can only be achieved using correct tactics and equipment. The equipment including guns, armor, grenades, turrets, etc. is unlocked at game levels completion. However, there are still unlimited efficient combinations of equipment/tactics that depend on non-linear game progress. 2. Game play Isometric Wars game play experience consists of 3 main elements: firefight, world exploration and equipment selection. 3. Firefight Like real life paint-ball action Isometric Wars firefight starts from hide or from efficient run-out that places squad members in a tactical positions. Firefight is controlled by tapping (click to go), all squad members are controlled independently, combat view can be zoomed, rotated and visible map levels (1-3) can be switched. There is also button that invokes selected soldiers additional equipment such as grenade, turret, etc. In firefight many squad member actions are performed automatically such as shooting, crouch, hide, cover friendly soldier, step back, etc. Automatic soldier actions depend on personal properties including IQ, bravery and current moral and stamina levels. Like real life, friendly squad members and enemies have reaction time that depends on their speed and IQ. Moving soldiers are easy to spot while those that do not move are sometimes hard to see even from close distance. Automatic actions are partially driven by probability and are not 100% consistent when gamer replays level. There also many interdependent character permanent and real-time properties that effect behavior during firefight 4. World exploration Isometric Wars consists of 100 levels that populate 10x10 grid. Every completed level unlocks adjacent levels and in most cases unlocks one equipment unit. World grid has fences that separate many adjacent levels and guide gamer in several directions rather than let him/her explore world in straight-forward manner. Level entry point depends on unlocked adjacent levels and there is an options to enter level from several positions if more than one adjacent levels are completed. Isometric Wars has very little limitation for world exploration so, it is normal to meet enemies that have much higher level than your squad. Player can still try to win and earn very good equipment or he/she may choose to retreat and try luck in another level, then come back and try again. Level-up and replay system lets gamer improve score and level in any completed game level using best equipment – it is designed to exclude possibility for player to get stuck in the game. Also, game saving and loading may help a lot. 5. Equipment selection Every level in Isometric Wars starts from equipment selection dialog. Also, there is opportunity to change equipment when level is restarted. Equipment selection is crucial for victory as some levels may require distant shooting and others running and shotgun action. Some levels may be easily completed by increasing firepower with turrets while in other levels grenades may be used to reach dangerous hidden or distant enemies. Practically, most of levels must be first explored to collect intelligence data of enemy strength and positions, then replayed with proper equipment and tactics to achieve best points results. Of course, enemies can make surprising moves, but this is a part of the game! 6. Story Isometric Wars game story takes place in International Military Alliance secret facility that studies and protects alternative technologies. It is several decades from devastating 5th World War that destroyed Worlds economy and Earths ecology. Earth fuel resources are exhausted. Former ecology enthusiasts (UniCor) are dominating new economy and rule the world as owners of remaining sources of green fuels and technologies. Remaining Earth governments try to take initiative. However, for unknown reason Alliance abandons their secret “Carrot Farm” base leaving just few soldier on duty. All scientists and stuff are evacuated. A week later UniCor troops arrive to take the facility...
