Israeli Army Arrests Eight in West Bank NABLUS, August 24, 2014 (WAFA) – Israeli army on late Saturday and early Sunday arrested eight Palestinians across the West Bank areas, assaulted two as well as detained three others for hours before releasing them, according to local and security sources. In Nablus, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club (PPC) said Israeli forces arrested three Palestinians from the Balata refugee camp while they were trying to pass a flying Israeli checkpoint that was set near the village of al-Badan. Meanwhile in Bethlehem, Israeli army stormed the city in the predawn hours and arrested a youth, 25, after raiding and searching his house. Forces also arrested a 25-year-old after raiding and searching his house in the nearby village of Beit Fajjar. Earlier at night, army broke through Aida refugee camp, to the north of Bethlehem, provoking confrontations with local residents and arresting a teenager, 16. In the meantime, army forces stormed the village of Bani Naim, to the east of Hebron, and arrested a Palestinian, 17, after raiding his family house. He was led to an unknown destination. Spokesperson for the anti-settlement committee in the village, Mohammad Awad, said the Israeli army imposed tight security measures at the nearby Jerusalem-Hebron highway, where they detained a 25-year-old for hours after smashing the glass of his car. Meanwhile, Forces late Saturday night detained and interrogated two Palestinians, aged 28 and 31, for long hours at a checkpoint to the south of Jenin before releasing them. Israeli soldiers also assaulted and beat up a Palestinian youth while he was trying to pass through al-Jalameh checkpoint, to the north of Jenin, reported local sources. palestine.dk/israeli-army-arrests-eight-in-west-bank/
