Israeli election update #19 - I haven’t posted any Jewish - TopicsExpress

Israeli election update #19 - I haven’t posted any Jewish Home campaign videos in awhile, and there have been a bunch. Here are a few with English subtitles (they also have in French and Russian, and more videos just in Hebrew): - Bennett - He’s a doer (youtu.be/qQ1aMOb7iGw) - Left-wing Tel Aviv women talking about what Bennett has done, but then dismissing everything because he’s right-wing - The banner team in action (youtu.be/KrfC4bdX2Q4) - Bennett and Yinon Magal delivering banners to people who ordered them and talking to people about why they’re supporting Jewish Home - The Left belongs to the 90’s (youtu.be/wxhIktUwmNk) - A TV plays video of Isaac Herzog speaking, and the audio jumps back and forth between Herzog and Shimon Peres, with very similar messaging - What do you think about Hamaarach? (youtu.be/1o1mgYbXGMs) - Interviewing people about Labor/Hatnua party (HaMaarach is The Alignment, the name of an earlier merger of parties that led to modern-day Labor). - If you’re aware of good ads, especially with English subtitles (many people reading these updates won’t get the Hebrew), from other parties, please send them to me. I follow pages from all the parties, more or less, and I post what I see. I can only assume I’m missing a lot, or perhaps no one other than Jewish Home has put in this much effort during the primary season. - The official name of Kahlon’s party is now “Kulanu led by Moshe Kahlon” which reminds me of “Hatnua led by Tzipi Livni” from the last election. I really don’t like the figurehead nature of parties in Israel. Besides the cult-of-personality aspect to it, it also means everyone else on the list has little accountability, if any. Maybe one day there will be regionally elected representatives as at least part of the election process, but don’t hold your breath. - Kahlon has put out some of his diplomatic positions, saying that he is open to negotiating with the Palestinians - when there is a leader to negotiate with (Abbas not being a peace partner according to Kahlon). Kahlon also said that no deal could divide Jerusalem, allow the right of return of descendants of Palestinian refugees from 1948, nor return to the pre-1967 lines. Kahn also has indicated his goal is be Finance Minister. That could be a problem in a Labor/Hatnua-led coalition, since they’ve already said Manuel Trajtenberg is their candidate for Finance Minister. As they almost certainly need Kahlon, that could cause a big problem. - The name of the Labor/Hatnua party for the election is now officially The Zionist Camp. No word I can find as to what they’re advertising themselves as in Arabic. - On the day of the march in Paris, some reporters in Israel said Netanyahu pushed his way into the front row of leaders, from a position a row back. Even though local French news sources have said that wasn’t the case, Labor/Hatnua (excuse me: The Zionist Camp) has come out with a video game online making fun of Netanyahu pushing himself to the front of the march: hooliganspro.co.il/push_bibi/ [Previous Update: https://facebook/trauring/posts/10155106738960504]
