Israeli planes struck the headquarters of the Palestinian Legislative Council (parliament) in western Gaza City on Tuesday. Israeli warplanes fired a missile into the building in western Gaza, an eyewitness told Anadolu Agency. Israeli planes also struck two schools in eastern Gaza City on Tuesday, in the latest attack targeting government and residential buildings in the blockaded Palestinian territory. The two attacks targeted a school in Zaytoun district and another in the Shujaya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, an eyewitness told Anadolu Agency. No casualties were reported. Earlier Tuesday, Israeli planes struck a 14-storey building in central Gaza City, leaving at least 20 Palestinians injured. Meanwhile, the Ezzeddin al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced on Tuesday firing several rockets at Haifa and Tel Aviv. In a statement, al-Qassam said it fired a R160 rocket at Haifa and four M75 rockets at Tel Aviv. According to the Israeli Haaretz daily, 20 Israelis sustained light injures after a rocket hit the coastal city of Ashkelon earlier Tuesday. Al-Qassam said the rocket attacks came in reprisal for the Israeli bombing of Gaza multiple-story residential buildings. ISRAEL TO GET US ARMS SHIPMENT Israel will soon receive a delayed U.S. army shipment, including Hellfire missiles, the Israeli Haaretz daily reported Tuesday. The daily quoted an unnamed Israeli defense source as saying he expected the shipment to leave for Israel soon. Israel had requested the arms for its ongoing onslaught against the Gaza Strip, according to Haaretz. The shipment had reportedly been halted by the Obama administration two weeks ago. Haaretz said the large shipment included, among others, Hellfire missiles for Apache attack helicopters.
